Former Constable Eric Hatfield has proven that he cannot be trusted as an elected official. And that's why he was ousted from office by his very own constituents! The voters overwhelmingly removed him from his constable position in the last election, and he certainly does not need to hold a parish-wide position, such as the Sheriff of Caddo Parish. The Court records in the Caddo Parish Courthouse alone demonstrate what a compulsive liar that Mr. Hatfield is. He has been found guilty of defamation by Caddo District Court Judge Ramon Lafitte, and that verdict was affirmed in a scolding written verdict handed down by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and upheld by the Louisiana Supreme Court. When he is questioned about his character, failure to pay child support, business dealings, failure to pay his taxes, numerous judgments against him, etc., he goes on the attack by telling lies and spreads false rumors about good and decent people in our community while he continues to milk the system, does not pay his income taxes on time, does not pay his property taxes, and even lies to federal authorities. Mr. Hatfield has proven to be a disgrace to our community. A Sheriff's responsibility is vast and includes not only law enforcement duties, he is entrusted to collect the property taxes and handling a budget with millions of tax dollars each year. He wants to manage over 600 trained employees of the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office with such a horrible record. Mr. Hatfield has failed to maintain his own finances, and yet he wants you to make him the chief law enforcement officer and tax collector for the parish! The disgraced former constable has changed his party affiliation numerous times every time he runs for an office, hoping to mislead voters not smart enough to see through his lies. He is a slick talker but this website will tell you all that you need to know about Eric Hatfield! Don't take our word for it. Read the public documents on this website and you be the judge yourself.
